For this volume we invited members of our Facebook ‘Dark Ambient’ group to take part This group was originally set up to help promote thee 'Dark Ambient' kompilation series but it has grown into something much bigger over thee years...

Thee release is dedikated to Mark Blood who helps with thee running of thee group...

“The Dark Ambient group was established 10 years ago and there is a wealth of music to select from, and if you have any questions, our members will help you if they can. We receive posts from well known and newly established artists who cover a variety of dark ambient styles. At the time of writing the group boasts just over 9,200 members.
We keep the content on-topic as much as possible while also encouraging posts that showcase genre-bending examples of Dark Ambient. This can be difficult to curate as beauty is in the ear of the beholder and what is Dark Ambient to one person is simply metal, or industrial music to another! Occassionally, the rules need to be relaxed!
Another great quality the group has is the level of support that is available. It is marvellous to see a request from a member with a gear question, request for new DA to listen to, requests for information about a track they are trying to find, calls for submissions to other compilations, invitations to collaborate etc and lots of members respond.
We appreciate and value the input of the community very much. This means that you will find many examples of great Dark Ambient compositions - single tracks and albums, mix sets, and music that has been used in documentaries and films. These all cater to many different tastes inspired as they are by the artists own life experiences, cultural background and global and local events.” - Mark Blood

❤️My original plan was to go through and buy individual tracks like I do with most compilation albums, but honestly there are just so many good ones that I wound up buying the whole thing. More than simple drones (though there are plenty of those, too), this album collects many of the best and most innovative dark ambient artists in one place, including many who are new to me.
